EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES HUB IMPLEMENTED AT FEDERATION UNIVERSITY
Federation University have partnered with IBM to deliver a centre of excellence in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. The Emerging Technologies Hub supports data modelling in each of those disciplines and provides students, faculty and industry with a modern, immersive teaching and learning environment.
As a leading provider of Workplace Technology, we're proud to announce our collaboration with L1 Capital in Melbourne. L1 Capital recently relocated offices and engaged Converged Technology to help transform their workplace, and then invested significantly in collaborative technologies designed to foster communication between staff and clients, setting a new standard for financial services. Step into a space where cutting edge technology combines with investment vision to deliver powerful outcomes.
Federation University engaged with Converged Technology and IComm to deliver a state-of-the-art Audiovisual solution, supporting a diverse range of scenarios including formal presentations, technical briefings, teaching and learning scenarios, group and mobile collaboration.
The resultant solution was underpinned by technology from leading technology brands Crestron, Samsung, QSC and Shure. Crestron provided rock-solid video distribution, video conferencing, wireless presentation and control. The giant 270" 4K LED wall from Samsung was awe inspiring, with enterprise grade audio and cameras from QSC and a wireless microphone solution from Shure rounding out the solution.
Crestron NVX Video Distribution: The backbone of the AV setup, Crestron NVX, provided a robust and scalable solution for video distribution. Importantly this technology provided support for 4k transmission at 4:4:4, a critical requirement for the customer.
Crestron VC4 Control: A hosted VC4 control system provided centralized management of the entire AV ecosystem. Through a consolidated touch panel interface, staff, students and guests could interact with the solution, easily changing modes and setting up the space for the different use cases
AirMedia Wireless Presentation: To facilitate transparent content sharing, the AirMedia allows users to wirelessly present from their devices. This technology supports multiple participants and a wide range of endpoints including Windows and Mac laptops, Android and Apple Smartphones and mobile devices , making it ideal for collaborative environments and presentations.
Flex UC Platform: The Flex UC platform was employed to provide connectivity into the university’s Microsoft Teams environment, allowing teachers and staff to collaborate in hybrid meetings whether on-site or remote.
Samsung 270" 4K LED Wall: The highlight of the installation was a massive 270" 4K LED wall from Samsung. This stunning display serves as a focal point for the hub, offering crystal-clear visuals and vibrant colors, making it perfect for presentations, lectures, and collaborative projects.
QSC Audio and Cameras: The QSC platform provided critical audio functions with a Core DSP providing the backbone, and a pair of AD-S162T column speakers connected to a MP-A40V amplifier ensuring audio coverage throughout the large space. Three 12x PTZ cameras connected to the Flex UC provided diverse camera angles no matter the event type.
Shure wireless microphones: A series of Shure MXW handheld and lapel wireless microphones provided crystal clear audio for those presenting.
NexPro portable trolley: A 65” NEXPRO interactive display connected to a motorised trolley lift from Ultralift provided staff and students with a large format touch surface by which to interact with the visualised content.
